In 2015, persons from several countries resided in Brazil. Countries with more than 22,500 migrants were the United States, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina, Portugal, Spain, Italy, China, and Japan. Between 16,900 and 22,500 migrants originated from Peru, Chile, and Germany. Between 5,620 and 11,200 migrants originated from Colombia, Angola, United Kingdom, and South Korea. Most of the remaining countries of the world had fewer than 5,620 migrants to Brazil. Countries in this category with at least 3,000 migrants were Mexico, Venezuela, Egypt, the Netherlands, Poland and Switzerland.
