A map illustrates global elevations, categorized by different height ranges in meters: below sea level to 0, 1 to 199, 200 to 499, 500 to 1,999, 2,000 to 3,999, and above 4,000.

The map shows global elevations with color-coded categories for different height ranges:

Below Sea Level to 0 meters (very dark blue): Small areas highlighted in the north-eastern U S A, around the Caspian Sea, and parts of Egypt, the north-eastern region of Ethiopia, and northern region of Germany.

1 to 199 meters (dark blue): South Coastal Plain and lower Mississippi Valley in Eastern North America, large low-lying areas in South America (Amazon Basin, parts of southern Brazil, Paraguay, northern Argentina), most of northern Europe, valleys of major Asian rivers (Tigris, Euphrates, Indus, Ganges), parts of eastern China and Southeast Asia, coastal areas of Africa, and parts of northern and south-central Australia.

200 to 499 meters (brown): Eastern North America, parts of South America, much of southern Europe, parts of West and North Africa, parts of Russia, most of Australia.
