Less than 20 degrees Fahrenheit (Red): Covers most of the United States, excluding the southern and coastal areas, extending into Canada and northern Mexico. 20 degrees Fahrenheit (Blue): North Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, North Carolina, Kentucky, eastern Washington, Eastern Oregon, Idaho, and some part of Utah. 30 degrees Fahrenheit (Purple): Most of California along the coast, western Oregon, western Washington, central Texas, northern Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, and South Coalinga. 40 degrees Fahrenheit (Orange): Covers parts of southern Texas, Louisiana, south of Georgia and north of Florida. 50 degrees Fahrenheit (Yellow): Southcentral region of Florida. 55 degrees Fahrenheit (Green): Restricted to the southern tip of Florida.

Cold fronts occur in several areas on the weather map, in the Pacific Ocean off British Columbia; beginning in southern Utah and running northeast across the Great Plains into Canada almost as far as Hudson Bay; and in the eastern Gulf of Mexico, extending northeastward across Florida toward the hurricane just off shore.

These storms form in specific regions: Atlantic Ocean: Including the Gulf of Mexico, the Caribbean Sea, and extending towards the eastern United States and parts of Central America. Indian Ocean: Covering areas around the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. Western Pacific Ocean: Extending from the Philippines, Vietnam, and Cambodia to the eastern coasts of China and Japan. Eastern Pacific Ocean: Including the coastal regions of Mexico and parts of Central America. Southern Hemisphere: Affecting regions around Madagascar, parts of Australia, the South Pacific islands (Fiji, Samoa), and the eastern coasts of Africa.
