Great Basin includes much of Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, and Nevada, as well as eastern California and Oregon. Northwest coast includes island chains off Washington, coastal western Canada, and Alaska. Plains encompasses much of the center of the United States and Canada, extending from Edmonton to the north and San Antonio to the south. Plateau includes eastern Oregon and Washington, northern Idaho, and parts of southern Alberta and British Columbia. Southwest includes most of Arizona, New Mexico, southern Texas, and northern Mexico. Subarctic consists of most of northern Canada below the arctic circle.
